Hey party people!
Don't you just love day parties? Well, I know I'm a big fan of them!
I just went to the ASOS Santa Monica Penthouse launch party.
ASOS  has been touring America throwing these shindigs.
So far they've been to Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, and last stop Santa Monica!
They saved the best for last, obviously.
Needless to say, I was all over it.
It was held at 41 Ocean, which is usually a private "members only" club, and that basically means you have to be filthy rich to ever step foot in the building.
But thanks to my little invite I got to go where no man has gone before, the magical 41 Ocean.
As the name might suggest, it is right across the street from the big ol' beautiful Pacific Ocean, which definitely adds to its charm.
And not gonna lie, it was pretty snazzy.
They checked our names of the guest list and off we went!

My phone woke me up the other morning, it was my friend Matt calling to ask if I wanted to go flying.
He explained that our friend Jake had just gotten his pilot's license and wanted to fly over to Catalina Island for the day.
Immediate thoughts...this sounds terrifying.
Not only will I be in a tiny propeller plane, but we will be flying over the ocean and my newly licensed friend is basically doing a test drive 5,000 feet above the ground.
OH, and it's raining outside right now.
But I knew if I passed up this opportunity I would definitely regret it, so I put on my big girl panties and headed over to the airport.

Some Like it Hot

Having our fill of Dinosaurs, we continued our journey to a little oasis in the desert called, Palm Springs.
I've always loved trips to Palm Springs because it's like going back in time to the 50's.
Upon entering the town, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic for an era of the past.
It's as if I was walking into a living and breathing museum, a city frozen in an ode to it's prime.
With Mod architecture on every corner and palm trees lining the streets, I was transported to a time of glamour and opulence.
I imagined what it must have been like to see movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe roll down Palm Springs Boulevard in her chauffeured top down Cadillac while puffing on her long stemmed cigarette while dripping in diamonds.
Once upon a time, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball and Elizabeth Taylor were all among the stars that called Palm Springs their home away from home.
In fact they have even built a 36 foot tall statue to commemorate one of the Hollywood legends.
